New Data Protection Legislation

The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) have been enacted into UK law as the Data Protection Act 2018, replacing the old Act from 1998. All Organisations that process personal data need to ensure they are compliant. Remember the six privacy principles:

1. Lawfulness, fairness and transparency

2. Purpose limitation

3. Data minimisation

4. Accuracy

5. Storage limitation

6. Integrity and confidentiality

Remember, certain organisations need to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO).
