HR Systems Implementation

 

 

The Client had an HR Admin Officer who was intending to leave to pursue a new career.  Existing staff did not have the skills to cover those duties and the Client was reluctant to employ new staff as they realised that they could not justify a permanent replacement as the requirement was too varied in terms of hours and duties.  The question posed by the client was could we recommend a new approach?

 

After looking at different software packages available, a cloud-based solution was recommended.  One of the major benefits to the client was the cost savings in terms of recruitment and employing a new member of staff as the set-up costs were minimal and there was only the need for an annual fee, considerably less than the cost of employing an individual.

 

All staff have benefited from using the system as they are able to contribute to their own professional development by ensuring qualifications and relevant documents are uploaded to their record.  They can also use the system to request absences (particularly useful for remote staff).  Managers are able to use the inbuilt holiday planners to easily view planned absences for their teams over the year and monitor instances of other absences.  The system is also used to record training attended by individuals and has an alert system that notifies the individual’s manager when that training is due for renewal.

 

Individual members of staff have been trained as administrators of the system so new starters and leavers can be easily updated.  This has helped to improve their own skills and knowledge in terms of HR and the legal considerations that are due.
